Home to all rowing events for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, our world class venue provides more rowable distance than other venues, highlighted by our 3,000 meter straightaway.
The original boathouse was torn down in 2022, and is receiving an exciting $17 million upgrade through the City of Gainesville. The new facilities will include four boat bays, an Olympic weightlifting room, and a ballroom. The venue will host the 2026 NCAA Women's Rowing Championships and opens to the public in early 2024.
Located on the protected shores of historic Lake Sydney Lanier, a 40-mile-long lake, our club is in Gainesville, GA, only an hour north of Atlanta and approximately 45 minutes from Athens, GA.
